About Us

Michigan Community Services, Inc. was organized by a team of experienced mental health and management professionals, with specialized training and experience in the field of community services for the developmentally disabled. Based on their combined expertise and desire, this team felt confident of its ability to meet the special needs of consumers.

The Corporation’s first community development was the Granada Home. This is a specialized facility currently under contract with Genesee County CMH to serve as a home and learning site for six individuals with multiple developmental disabilities.

Presently, Michigan Community Services, Inc. mangers the following programs in a three county region: Sixteen group homes licensed by the Department of Human Services, three apartment programs serving both adult with developmental disabilities and adults with mental illness, a Senior Respite program providing support to caregivers of frail elderly adults, a Medication Monitoring program for adults with mental illness, a large day program division with five location providing an array of services including skill building, pre vocational training, volunteerism, and community integration. This division also provides support of disabled adults operating their own micro enterprise.

Close to a thousand consumers are served in the programs listed above.
